The divorce of one’s parents has a profound impact on a person’s life as they grow into adulthood. They may feel as though they have to choose between their parents, and that nothing they do is good enough. Feeling pressured to behave as an adult while still a child is a burden for a young person who is going through adolescence. The worst part for a child of divorce can be the feeling of a lack of closure for the pain, since the child may not have someone he or she can talk to.
